Antibody Immunogen Source: Human PCYT1A; CTPCT; CCTA sequence peptide Cat. No.: PE-04ARH95

Antibody Immunogen Sequence: KAAA(pY)DI(pS)EDE(bA)C

Antibody Immunogen Description: Corresponds to amino acid residues K355 to E365; in the C-terminus of the protein. These are among the main in vivo phosphorylation sites in PCYT1A.

Production Method: Corresponds to amino acid residues K355 to E365; in the C-terminus of the protein. These are among the main in vivo phosphorylation sites in PCYT1A.

Antibody Modification: PCYT1A phosphosite-specific antibody

Antibody Concentration: 1 mg/ml

Storage Buffer: Phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, 0.05% Thimerasol

Storage Conditions: For long term storage, keep frozen at -40°C or lower. Stock solution can be kept at +4°C for more than 3 months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Product Use: Western blotting | Antibody microarray

Antibody Dilution Recommended: 2 µg/ml for immunoblotting

Antibody Potency: Medium immunoreactivity of a target-sized protein by Western blotting in A431, HeLa and MCF7 cells.

Antibody Species Reactivity: Human

Antibody Positive Control: The observed molecular mass of the processed target protein on SDS-PAGE gels is reported to be around 40-45 kDa.

Antibody Specificity: Very high

Antibody Cross Reactivity: No significant cross-reactive proteins detected in A431, HeLa and MCF7 cells, except for a ~160 kDa cross-reactive protein in A431 cells, which appears to be the phosphorylated EGF receptor.

Scientific Background: PCYT1A is the rate limiting enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway for phosphatidylcholine. It catalyzes the reaction: CTP + phosphocholine = diphosphate + CDP-choline. It is an ambiquitous enzyme that resides in the cytoplasm of cells in an inactive form. Diacylglycerol, acidic phospholipids and fatty acids drive the binding of PCYT1A to the endoplasmic reticulum and stimulation of its catalytic activity.
