Scientific Background: GTF2F1 is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the Atypical group and family. It is also a general transcription initiation factor that binds to RNA polymerase II and helps to recruit it to the initiation complex in collaboration with TFIIB. It can be inhibited by mutation of S385 and T389.
