Antibody Immunogen Description: Corresponds to amino acid residues V174 to G180; In the protein kinase catalytic domain.

Production Method: Corresponds to amino acid residues V174 to G180; In the protein kinase catalytic domain.

Antibody Modification: Protein kinase phosphosite-specific antibody

Antibody Concentration: 1 mg/ml

Storage Buffer: Phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, 0.05% Thimerasol

Storage Conditions: For long term storage, keep frozen at -40°C or lower. Stock solution can be kept at +4°C for more than 3 months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Product Use: Western blotting | Antibody microarray

Antibody Dilution Recommended: 2 µg/ml for immunoblotting

Antibody Potency: Weak immunoreactivity of a target-sized protein by Western blotting in A431 cells. Medium immunoreactivity with immunogen peptide on dot blots.

Antibody Species Reactivity: Human

Antibody Positive Control: The observed molecular mass of the processed target protein on SDS-PAGE gels is reported to be around 40-45 kDa.

Antibody Specificity: Medium-High

Antibody Cross Reactivity: No cross-reactivities, but background is high in A431 cells. In HEK-293 has a slightly higher background with FBS treatment, but not with phenylarsine oxide (PAO) treatment.

Scientific Background: CaMK1a is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the CAMK group and CAMK1 family. Phosphorylation at Thr-177 increases its phosphotransferase activity by approximately 25-fold in a Ca(2+)-CaM dependent manner. Thr-177 is phosphorylated by CAMKK1 or CAMKK2. CaMK1a and CaMKK1 regulate the G(O)-G(1) restriction check point for cell cycle transition in human breast cancer cells. Target substrates for CaMK1a includes CREB1, ATF1, CFTR, MYL9, and SYN1/synapsin I.
