Scientific Background: MLK4 (M3KL4) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the TKL group and MLK family. It acts to impair TLR4 signalling, and will not activate any of the JNK1/MAPK8, or p38/MAPK14, or ERK2/MAPK1 pathways. Homodimerization via the leucine zipper domains is required for autophosphorylation and subsequent activation. Mutations in MLK4 have been linked to Colorectal cancer (CRC).
