Antibody Positive Control: The observed molecular mass of the processed target protein on SDS-PAGE gels is reported to be around 43-50 kDa.

Scientific Background: MEK2 (MAP2K2) is a Dual specificity protein kinase of the STE group and STE7 family. Phosphorylation of S222 and S226 increases its phosphotransferase activity. Phosphorylation of S216 inhibits phosphotransferase activity. It controls the concomitant phosphorylation of the threonine and tyrosine in a Thr-Glu-Tyr sequence in MAP kinases. It particularly targets and activates the ERK1 and ERK2 MAP kinases.
